A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at Park View Lutheran Church in Park View, Iowa. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. and continue until the time of service. Bonnie will be laid to rest at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Parkview Lutheran Church. Online condolences may be expressed at www.rungemortuary.com.
Bonnie was born in Davenport, Iowa, on January 19, 1939, to Floyd and Irene (Biehler) Maxwell. She graduated from Davenport High School and went on to dedicate her life to teaching and caring for others.
Bonnie was united in marriage to the love of her life, Ronald E. Amhof, on August 16, 1958. Together, they built a life centered around family, faith, love, and community.
Bonnie began her teaching career at Butler #2. She later continued her teaching career in the Davenport School District, where she taught for 29½ years.
Bonnie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and community member. She was the heart of her family—steady, selfless, and endlessly generous. She lived her life rooted in kindness, hard work, faith, and a deep love for her family.
Bonnie found joy in creativity, faith, and spending time with the people she loved. Her warmth, generosity, and unwavering devotion to her family will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.
Those left to cherish Bonnie’s memory include her loving husband, Ron Amhof of Eldridge; her son, Doug Amhof of Eldridge; her daughter-in-law, Roxanne Amhof of Fort Dodge; 7 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild with two on the way.
She was preceded in death by her sons, David Amhof and Duane Amhof; and her parents, Floyd and Irene Maxwell.
Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
