Brian Matthew McClimans, 46, of Bettendorf, IA, passed away on March 10, 2026 at the University of Iowa Hospital from complications related to diabetes. A memorial visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. on Friday, March 20, 2026 at Weerts Funeral Home, 3625 Jersey Ridge Rd, Davenport, IA 52807. The funeral service will begin at 4 p.m. Brian will be laid to rest at Davenport Memorial Park at a later date. Memorial contributions in his memory may be made to King's Harvest Pet Rescue.
Brian always greeted everyone with a smile, handshake or a hug. He never met a stranger and would often say, "There's my buddy".
Brian enjoyed reading aviation thriller novels by Dale Brown and playing video games. He also loved playing Monopoly and had almost every edition of the game. Brian loved exotic cars and could tell you every statistic related to them. He could always be found reading about them in a car magazine. He also loved attending various men's groups at his local church, Coram Deo Bible Church.
During high school and following, Brian worked more than twenty years at Hy-Vee. His most recent job was working at Capriotti's Sandwich Shop.
Brian is survived by his mother, Sue Burke of Davenport, IA; father, Larry (Joyce) McClimans of Blue Grass, IA; brother, Mike (Brooke) McClimans of Pleasanton, CA; two nephews, Hayes and Quinn McClimans, and one niece, Blake McClimans.
Brian was preceded in death by his grandparents, Reynold and Lois Stearns, and Florence and Ralph McClimans.
