Brian was born on April 9, 1970 in Omaha, Nebraska. His parents are Kenneth Muckenfuss and Claudette Short. Brian graduated from Davenport Central High School in 1988 and was united in marriage to Shannon Emmick on July 19, 1997.
Brian’s most important role in life was that of a husband and father—his family meant everything to him. He had a servant’s heart and would give his shirt to strangers, friends, and family alike. Brian was a skilled contractor and passionate home builder, one who truly loved serving those for whom he built. Brian loved to cook and was a master on the grill. His friends and family always enjoyed his exceptional chef skills during holidays, family gatherings, and at Chicago Bears football games. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting, gardening and spending time with his beloved golden retrievers.
Survivors include his loving wife, Shannon; daughters, Sophia Muckenfuss and fiancé (Adam Wellman) of Davenport, and Ellie Rodruck and husband (Alex) of Bettendorf; mother, Claudette Short of Colorado; sister, Natalie Lyle of Colorado; nephews, Nathaniel (Allison) Duff and family, Alexander (Shayne) and family; aunts, Marie (Frank) Thomas of South Carolina, and Simone Harbosky and family of Pennsylvania; and cousin, Charlie Short of Illinois.
