There were always a lot of laughs with Pastor Brian.

Even after we went thru pre-martial counseling,  we still loved Pastor Brian!

Our youngest wedding guest was accompanied by her grandpa.

April 4, 2009, We were blessed to be married by Padtor Brian.

Pastor Brian Spitzer will be remembered as a very kind and generous man who provided us with pre-marital counseling which was all encompassing with not just our relationship and communication but also day to day things like budgeting. The counseling sessions were eye-opening for my now husband and myself.  We really had no idea how much money we would be spending in a day and what was realistic to expect. This was in 2003, my now husband thought a realistic number was $20 a day. After we had a good laugh, Pastor Brian  educated us on what we should actually expect and how to break it down our daily expenses. We also then realized that was a very unrealistic expectation. This is something that comes so easily now, but back then we were so naive.  He made us feel comfortable and it was like we were talking to a friend not a counselor. He joked with us and shared stories and experiences from his life too, which made him seem even more personable. By him opening up and sharing things with us, he made us feel more comfortable with being vulnerable and sharing details about our relationship and history. The counseling he provided us really gave us a good foundation to start our marriage on. A gift no price tag can match. We will always look back and have fond memories and are thankful for the time that we had with him and thankful for the knowledge he was able to share with us.

We have so many fond memories of the kindnesses of your husband/father when we were living in the QC.  He exemplified mercy and grace in the truth/grace partnership we remember at Grandview, and Brian was such a stabilizing influence in our faith walk there.  
We smile to think of his convertible drives preceding the red truck that we did get to sit in when visiting a few years ago! 
Our hearts  will be with you this weekend as you celebrate a life well lived along with his homegoing to his Savior.  And our prayers will continue as you mourn his loss here with you.

Brian was such an encouragement to us while we pastored in Alexis. He was so warm and loving and had a way of making everyone feel needed and important. Truly a great loss to our body of believers on earth but a great gain to God’s heavenly body. Our love and sympathy is with you all.

i received counseling from Pastor Brian, it was like no other i have ever received & was able to forgive & receive healing from God. None of the bad memories are in my life anymore and once healed, I remember mostly good times now

The DeWulf’s just like many other couples had the privilege of having Brian give us the tools and foundation for a strong marriage using god as a main tool. Pastor Brian will always be someone we will look up to and we love and miss him dearly.
