

Bruno Ihlefeld, 95, of Davenport, passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at Crest Health Center Davenport. Funeral services will be Friday, March 22, 2013 at 10:00 am at Trinity Lutheran Church in Davenport. Visitation will be Thursday from 5-8 pm at the Runge Mortuary. Burial will take place in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery.

Bruno was born October 2, 1917 in Blue Grass Township, IA, the son of Frederick & Ella (Schmidt) Ihlefeld. He was united in marriage to Gladys Edens on October 12, 1946 in Atkins, IA. She preceded him in death on February 20, 2001. Bruno served in the Army during WWII in the European Theatre.
Bruno had been employed for 35 years as a model builder with Bendix Corporation retiring in 1983. Several of the parts he had been involved with had been used in the US space program. He was very handy and loved to help others with their projects.
Survivors include: daughters & sons-in-law, Phyllis Carlisle and her husband Dr. Gene Carlisle of La Crosse, WI and Laraine Summerfield and husband Rev. Tom Summerfield of Ruthven, IA; son and daughter in law, Dr. Gary Ihlefeld and his wife Jeanne of Muscatine, IA; grandchildren Jeff Vorderberg, Allen Ihlefeld, Dr. Jon Ihlefeld, Jacob Summerfield, Arianna Summerfield; great granddaughters: Aubrey Vorderberg; Lisette and Leanna Ihlefeld; sisters, Erna Logan, Ottumwa, IA and Vera Sessler, Wilton, IA and a brother, Edgar Ihlefeld, Davenport. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and brother, Albert.
