

Memorial services for Burton F. Fletcher Jr., 74, of DeWitt, IA will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in DeWitt. A private burial will be held at St. Joseph Cemetery later that day. The family will greet friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the church. Mr. Fletcher died on Tuesday, November 23, 2010, at Genesis Medical Center – West Campus, Davenport. Cunnick-Collins Mortuary and Cremation Service in Davenport is assisting the family with arrangements. Burton Francis Fletcher Jr. was born on August 24, 1936 in Chicago, IL, the son of Burton and Myra (Weeks) Fletcher. He served in the U.S Navy from 1953 to 1961 aboard U.S.S Tusk Submarine as a Torpedo man. He married Gloria Walker in 1955, they were later divorced. He then married Gloria Ann Miller on December 17, 1965 in Iowa City. She preceded him in death on April 21, 2010. For over 25 years he owned and operated The Headquarters barber shop in DeWitt and for the past several years Burt worked part time at the Devil's Glen Barber Shop. He enjoyed hunting and was involved in the Mississippi Valley Hunter Retriever Club. Survivors include his sons, Mark Fletcher of DeWitt, Kevin Teller of Shreveport, LA, daughter, Deborah Wall of Shreveport, LA, 6 Grandchildren; 4 Great-Grandchildren and a brother, Robert (Sondra) Fletcher of Cedar Rapids, IA.
