Cable was born on October 23, 1944 to Joseph and Marjorie VonMaur. He owned and operated VonMaur Construction for over 45 years before he retired in 2019. Cable married Celeste Holm on June 4, 1978 and celebrated 43 years of marriage together. Cable was a talented musician, playing guitar, bass, and piano. He took that talent from playing in bands with his wife, to playing at home for an audience of his children and grandchildren. He was an avid fisherman, and loved the water. Cable had a heart for missions traveling back and forth to Mexico with his daughters, his friends, and his church.
Cable loved boating and camping. He was involved in scouts with his grandsons. He loved to collect rocks, and coach sports teams for his kids, and helped with school projects. He loved the weekends at the cabin, singing, and playing on the worship team with his wife. He built a company that he ran for four decades making a name for himself as a talented and trustworthy mason throughout the Quad Cities.
He loved his family, was kind and generous, and a friend to anyone and everyone. Most importantly he was a devoted husband to Celeste, and a man of faith.
