Candyce "Candy" Williams, 78, of Davenport, Iowa, passed away on July 26, 2026. Visitation will be held at Weerts Funeral Home on Thursday, July 30, 2026, from 5 to 7 p.m. A funeral service will be held at Weerts Funeral Home at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 31, 2026. Candy will be laid to rest at Davenport Memorial Park.
Candy was born March 9, 1948, to parents Lucile (Wessel) and Glen Wilkins in Davenport, IA. She graduated from Davenport West High School, Class of 1966. Throughout her career as a Secretary for the Davenport School District, Candy worked at schools including in Perry, Smart, and Buffalo. She retired in 2010.
On August 10, 1968, Candy married Kenneth Williams in Davenport, Iowa. The pair had two children and many beloved years together before Ken passed in 2017.
Candy was a loving wife, mother, and she especially loved showing up for her grandchildren—cheering them on, supporting them at their sporting events, and going all out for their birthdays and holidays. She enjoyed spending time with longtime friends and meeting up for movies or lunch dates. She was known for her sense of humor and always having a smile on her face, she could lighten a room without trying.
Those left to remember Candy include her children; Kevin (Brandi) Williams and Kenlyn (Mark) Thoensen; grandchildren, Kole, Kasey, Jacob (Nadalee), and Rylee (Bethany Esmoil); great-grandchildren, Evelyn and Brinlynn; half-sister, Judy; and several nieces, and a nephew.
Candy was preceded in death by her husband, Ken; parents, Lucile and Glen; twin sister, Pamela; and great-grandson, James.
The Williams' would like to thank Candy's amazing digestive disease care team at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics for providing years of exceptional care. In addition, a special thank you to everyone at Harmony Utica Ridge for the compassionate care over the last few months.
