Carla Faye Johnson

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, October 25, 2019 in the Shrine of Memories Cemetery, 3002 N Court, Ottumwa, Iowa. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Quad City Animal Welfare Center, Milan. Online condolences may be expressed at www.rungemortuary.com.

Carla was a daughter of Elwood and Vivian Fry, born on January 18, 1961 in Tiffin, OH. She was united in marriage to Tony Johnson on April 30, 2005 in Bettendorf, IA.

Carla was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. She was a compassionate, caring woman with a radiant personality and everyone who met her loved her. She had a love for animals, especially her dachshunds, Ruphus and Peanut. Carla was an associate at Walmart for over 22 years.

Those honoring her memory include her loving husband of 16 years, Tony Johnson; children: Tiffany (Christopher) Hinds, Justin (Erica) Snyder, Tasha Snyder, Amanda (Nick) Peters, Andrew Sexton, and Elmo Torne; sisters, Cindy, Mary Jo and Olene; brother, Tom; and grandchildren: Shawna, Brixton, Oliver, Adam, Alliah, and Antonett.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Larry and Chip; and her dachshund, Patches.

Angel Among Us

Blessings come in many different ways

They appear when we least expect them to stay, this is God’s divine way.

He gives us angels that live amongst us each and every day

Just when we think of these angels as our own,

God takes them home, but HE never takes them away.

Carla, was an angel amongst us

Given to us for a short time; cherished foe her love and wisdom.

Amongst us, she lived as a blessing, a gift, and an angel in disguise.

Please let your tears of sorrow dry, because today this angel is flying high.

Her blessings and love still exist, but her worries and pain are left behind.

But to shed our tears is difficult to resist.

Just always remember that this Angel Amongst Us was a blessing and a gift that we will remember as a mother and a wife.

Carla, you were an angel and life’s blessing to one and all, and you will be the Angel Amongst Us as we continue through this life.
