A celebration of her life will be Friday, July 30, 2021 at 10 am at Trinity Lutheran Church in Davenport. Visitation will be Thursday from 4-7 pm at The Runge Mortuary. Her final resting place will be in Pine Hill Cemetery, Davenport. Memorials may be made to Clarissa Cook. Online condolences may be shared at www.rungemortuary.com.
Carlette Michele was born in Davenport to Carl and Blanche (Wolary) Seyfreid. She graduated from West High School in 1965.She married Ron H. Ketelsen and went on to enjoy 53 years together. Her first career for seven years was as a hairstylist, for Marvin and Allen. Carlette’s second career was as a wonderful, loving person who offered daycare. This lasted 37 years. She founded Footsteps Day Care, wanting to build a daycare that involved caring and educating for newborns to pre-K. She believed in a strong education for her work and schooling. She had three sons, Kevin, Matthew and Andrew.
She was a strong advocate and motivated to help Andrew overcome the many limitations of his autism and seizures. She also volunteered at HDC Boosters.
Survivors include her husband, Ron H. Ketelsen, sons, Kevin R. and Matthew C. (Carrie) Ketelsen, cousins, Cliff (Pat) Fullhart, Cindy (Jim) Burnside, Bill (Deb) Eatock and Wilbert Ward; long time friends, sister-in-law, Judy Bergert, Kay Showens and Nancy Rather.
The family would like to thank and acknowledge all the nurses, doctors and staff at Genesis Health and Clarissa C. Cook Hospice for the exceptional quality of care shown to Carlette.
In addition to her parents, her son, Andrew preceded her in death.
