Carole V. Dewey, 81, passed away on Sunday, January 21, 2024 surrounded by the love of her family at The Fountains Senior Living. Carole’s funeral service will take place 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 29, 2024 at Weerts Funeral Home. Carole will be laid to rest alongside her husband at Westlawn-Hillcrest Memorial Park in Omaha, NE. Memorial contributions may be made to Tunnels to Towers. Carole was born on February 1, 1942 in Moline, IL to parents Reba (Blaine) and Edward Reynolds. She graduated from Moline High School and went on to become a clerk. Carole married Blair “Herb” Dewey II on May 5, 1979. Together, they had 40+ years in each other’s company before Herb passed in 2022.
Alongside Herb, Carole enjoyed many trips all around the world. They were both in the Rolls Royce Club. When at home, Carole loved tending to her garden of flowers and vegetables. With Carole’s and Herb’s fine cooking and their extensive collection of wines, they hosted many memorable evenings. Another big part of Carole’s life was the arts. She attended and supported many symphonies, operas, and ballets.
Those left to carry on Carole’s memory include her sister; Nancy Johnson; brother, Neil Reynolds; nieces and nephews, Kent, Matt, Beth, Curtis, Keith, Allison, Jennifer, and Francine.
Carole was preceded in death by her husband, Herb; parents, Edward and Reba, and her brother, Russell Reynolds.
