Carolyn “Timmy” Grotegut, 89, of Davenport, IA, passed away on Sunday, June 29, 2025 at her residence. Per her wishes, a private service will be held at Davenport Memorial Park. Timmy was born on October 29, 1935 in Dubuque, IA to parents Marie (Seeley) and Raymond Berg. On a fateful day at the Woolworth dime store, Timmy met Leonard Grotegut and the two later wed on June 26, 1954. The pair had five children and Timmy took on the many tasks of being a homemaker. She proved to be an amazing mom; her tightknit family was her pride and joy. Timmy also liked to have fun and play her luck at the casino; she often took trips with her sisters and friends. She could talk for hours with an unmatched sense of humor.
Those left to honor Timmy’s memory include her children, Carol (Jeff Weber) Balsar, Connie (Steve) Weston, Cathy (Dave) Irmen, Christa (Gary) Berens, and Tim (Terri) Grotegut; nine grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; three siblings, Lynn Willett, John Berg, and Joe Berg, and two special friends, Darlene McElwee and Phyllis Dietrich.
Timmy was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Leonard, and five siblings.
