Carolyn Sue McQueen

Carolyn “Sue” McQueen, 70, of Davenport, Iowa; passed away on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at Genesis East Medical Center. Per her request, cremation rites have been accorded and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Sue was born on July 14, 1951 in Davenport, Iowa. She went to school to be a nail technician and worked for 25+ years until her arthritis became too bad to work. Sue was married to Harold McQueen; he preceded her in death. Sue loved the ocean and spent happy years living in Surfside, Texas near the beach with her husband Harold. She was a social butterfly and loved to hang out with her friends at Edgewater. In her free time, Sue loved to sit and read a good book. Most of all Sue loved her family, especially her grandchildren.

Those left to honor her memory are her children Scott McCarl and Jennifer McCarl; grandchildren Trystan, Aiden, and Dakota Schippert and Sarah McCarl; a great-grandson Jaxon; niece Angel; and bonus daughter Melissa Gugelmeyer. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and daughter Stacey McCarl.
