

A celebration of life will be held Friday October 24, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at The Runge Mortuary and Crematory. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time. Memorials may be made to the family. Online condolences may be left at www.rungemortuary.com.
Carolyn Suzanne Vicary Zeglen was born September 2, 1960, to parents Don and Rita (Dodd) Vicary of Creve Coeur, Illinois. Carol attended Hanna City grade school and Farmington High School in Illinois. She worked at Bud's Body Shop in Davenport, Iowa. She also worked at Ross's restaurant for over 20 years as a waitress. Carolyn quickly moved up to a management position.
Carol was a very special person. She was kind, loving, genuine, gifted, a jack of all trades and a perfectionist. Her talents include sewing, decorating, plumbing, cutting hair, painting and oil painting. She stayed calm in every situation, always had a sense of humor and loved to make people laugh. She was someone you could call for anything. She loved gardening and flowers. All animals were drawn to her. She was a great mother. Carol made the best banana pudding and peanut butter cookies. She was scared of frogs ask her brother Chris.
Carolyn is survived by her parents, Don and Rita (Dodd)Vicary; sisters, Julie (Vicary) Bitner of Creve Coeur, Valerie (Vicary)(Joe)Durbin of German Town Hills, favorite brother, Chris (because that's what he always told her) (Dawn) Vicary of Marquette Heights Illinois; daughters, Destiny Roberts, Holly Terrell; son, Joshua Terrell; grandson, Brandon Roberts of Davenport, Iowa; favorite granddaughter, Breanna Rice; great grandchildren, Kinsley Rodriguez and Kaizer Rodriguez of Moline, Ill. She is also survived by her Persian cat, Shadow.
Carol was preceded in death by her big brother, Tony Vicary; sister, Diana Vicary; son, Danny Roberts and her grandson, Tyler Rice.
Thank you to her daughter Holly for becoming her caregiver and her children for being there with her every day. Thanks to the GREAT BIG VICARY FAMILY who traveled far to be by her side to see her. Thank you to everyone who prayed for her and over her. Thank you to everyone who helped with making the funeral happen. She's watching over us now, we miss her already and she will never be forgotten.
