Carrie Myrtice Gall

Myrtice Gall, 90, of Davenport, died Saturday, March 5, 2011 at the Aspen Rehab Center in Silvis. Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at 10:00 am at The Runge Mortuary. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4-7 pm at the mortuary. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. Carrie was born June 28, 1920 in Renfro, GA; the daughter of Frank and Carrie (Fussel) Smith. She was united in marriage to Albert Gall Sr. in September 1945 in Columbus, GA; he preceded her in death on September 27, 1985.

She worked at several area businesses including Western Auto Store and Jenkins Truck Line. She retired from Griggs Music where she was a bookkeeper. She was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church and enjoyed craftwork.

Those left to honor her memory include her children: Lorrie (Larry) VenHorst, Bettendorf, Frank (Ursula) Gall, Pleasant Valley, IA; Albert “John” (Gloria) Gall Jr., Rock Island; Robert Gall, Milwaukee, WI; sixteen grandchildren; many great and great-great grandchildren; brother, James (Eileen) Smith, Alabama and her beloved dog, Star. Her parents, daughters, Julia Morrow and Sandra Gall; sisters: Maude, Bessie and Nellie and a brother Raymond preceded her in death.
