Charles E. Huston

Funeral services for Charles E. Huston, 74, of Bettendorf, will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at the River of Life Church, Bettendorf, IA. The family will greet friends on Saturday from 10:00 am until service time at the church. Inurnment will take place at the Rock Island Arsenal National Cemetery at a later date. Charles graduated to his eternal home on Tuesday, January 26, 2016. Cunnick - Collins Mortuary and Cremation Service is assisting the family with arrangements.Charles Edson Huston was born on January 22, 1942 in Kirksville, Mo, the son of Edward and Verlee (Beard) Huston. He married Teri Williams in 1965. He later married Gloria Bernauer-Britcher in 1988 in Rock Island.Charles worked maintenance for 25 years at Alcoa, retiring in 2002. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1960-1964. He was a member of the United Steel Workers Local #105. He also served on the Board of Directors at the Alcoa Credit Union.Survivors include his wife, Gloria of Bettendorf, sons; Paul (Marcia) Huston of Ames, IA, James (Tonia) Britcher of Grandview, MO, daughters; Wendy (Tom) Huston-Lindsey of Lindstrom, MN, Angel (Shawn) Huston-O’Neill of Bettendorf, Cindy (Don) Collins of S.C., seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, brother; Ernie (Daisy) Huston of Bettendorf, former sister-in-law; Garda Huston of Bettendorf, sister-in-law; Geanna Huston of Texas, and his dogs; Molly and Scooter.He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Scott Britcher, brother; Lewis Huston and an infant sister. Memorials may be directed to the Kings Harvest Animal Shelter.
