The residents at Edgewater on Third, where Charlie resided most recently, send our sincerest sympathies to Charlie's family on his passing March 27, 2013. Charlie was a wonderful person and neighbor -- warm, friendly, kind, generous, with an easy, genuine smile. He lightened up the mood of every room he entered -- that is a real gift! We really miss him. God bless you all. Suzy Hartung on behalf of the Edgewater Resident Association, Davenport

Charlie lived down the hall from me. He was such a friendly man, so full of life. I loved hearing his "howdy, neighbor!" whenever he saw me. If I asked how he was doing, he would reply "Oh, I can't complain" or something similar, always a positive outlook. And I would tease him about racing with NASCAR the way he zipped around the building! He will be missed by many here, he touched so many lives including mine.

Grandpa will be missed. He truly enjoyed seeing Quinn when we would stop to see him. I wish we could of had more time for her to get to know him better and for him to meet his newest great grandchild Peyton... Miss you grandpa and rest in peace.
