Charlotte L. Holcomb

Funeral services for Charlotte L. Holcomb, 90, of Eldridge, formerly of Davenport, will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at Cunnick-Collins Mortuary. The family will greet friends from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Interment will be at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Holcomb passed away from complications after suffering a stroke, on Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf. Charlotte Leora Flynn was born on November 6, 1923 in Maquoketa, IA, the daughter of Milford and Grace (Sanger) Flynn. In 1952 she married R.C. “Ron” Holcomb in Fulton, MS. He preceded her in death in 2007. Charlotte enjoyed cooking and baking, but most importantly being with her family. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by two Daughters: Wanda (Ray) Bell of Davenport, Wava (Merlyn Pete) Madden of Long Grove, IA; 4 Grandchildren, Melissa (Mark) Gross, Rhonda Eckhart, Scott (Mary Beth) Madden, Renee (Art) Sinksen; 10 Great-grandchildren: Mckenzie, Caroline, Meredith Gross, Chloe Eckhart, S.J.,Seth, and Charlotte Madden, Isabel, Paige and Addison Sinksen; a Sister-in-Law: Norma Flynn of Phoenix, AZ. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, William “Bill” Flynn. Memorials may be directed to a charity of the donor’s choice.
