Cheryl Lee Bennett, beloved daughter, wife, mother and grandmother, was born on October 17, 1967, in Portsmouth, Virginia to Mary Cheryl Fahrenkrug and Ronald Lee Fahrenkrug and passed away October 25, 2025, at the age of 58.
Cheryl's spirit is carried on by her husband, Jerry, her mother, Mary, her children, Matthew, Amanda, Eric, and Chasidy, her son in laws, Joe and Chase, daughter in law, Tina, grandchildren, Lance and Ethan, her brother, Kurt, his wife Darcy, and their children, Jacob and Kylie along with her husband, Terran, and their children, Carson and Della, and her grand pups, Jojo, Korah, Axel, and Dublin. She now joins her father, Ronald Fahrenkrug, uncle, Alvin Takemoto, and several beloved pets.
Cheryl had a fairy-tale marriage to Jerry for 33 years. They met at Big River Equipment, had their first date at McDonald's and the rest is history. For the majority of their marriage, They shared office space at work and the car ride back and forth. They were literally together 24/7 and couldn't be any happier. Together, they raised their family on dirt racing, compassion for animals, love and honesty.
Cheryl has a passion for nature, crafts, and cooking. Her home was full of plants, homemade decorations, amazing smells and even better food. She could cook, bake, and can anything. Cheryl could take something someone deemed as trash and make it beautiful!
She could find something creative at a store, take a picture of it, and then say "nah, I can make that myself". Then she would do just that. Her yard is its own Midwest botanical garden with her favorites being the tall standing sunflowers.
Animals were another passion of Cheryl's. She rescued several animals of all shapes and sizes throughout her life. Her home has always been a safe haven for wildlife of all kinds. She made her home a sanctuary for any animal or person in need. Cheryl had horses, cats, emus, and chickens, along with her four grand pups. She loved every animal, but her chickens had a special part of her heart. She became known as the " crazy chicken lady" amongst friends and family and she was proud of it. She loved her grand pups and spoiled them every day. There was nothing she wouldn't do for them. Her passion for animals has been instilled in her children and will be continued on by them.
Cheryl will be remembered for her love of her family, animals, plants, and her creative mind. She was a kind person who left her mark on everyone she met.
A celebration of Cheryl's life will be held at a later date with more information to come.
