Cheryl was born on August 24, 1955 to Billie and Shirley (Holland) Gott in Peoria, IL. She was united in marriage to Michael Murphy in 1988 in Davenport, IA. She achieved her bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. She worked for 20 years as a unit secretary for Genesis East Medical Center.

Cheryl had many hobbies including her love for reading and books, and watching criminal dramas. More than anything, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Those left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Billie Murphy (Shayne Hagendorn) of Davenport IA.; step-children, Eric Murphy, Barb Sindt, Kathleen Sindt, Kelly Vickers and Maureen Stephens; Special grandchildren, Gage Murphy, Mehkeil Copeland, Tye Copeland, Isaac Brown, Azaiah Hagedron and Amari Hagedorn; A host of other grandchildren; an abundance of great grandchildren; and her sister, Karen Gott.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Billie and Shirley Gott; her beloved husband, Michael Murphy; her son Dallas Murphy, and her brother Donnie Gott.
