Christian “Chris” A. Lorenzen, 90, of Davenport passed away at his home on Thursday, September 22, 2022. Friends are invited to attend a graveside service, which will be held on Tuesday, September 27 at 1:00 p.m. at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Chris was born on June 7, 1932 in Clinton, IA to Carl and Ida (Christiansen) Lorenzen. He graduated from Clinton High School in 1950. He went on to earn his Associates Degree in Business and Accounting from Clinton Community College. Chris proudly served in the United States Army from 1953-1955. He was united in marriage to Sharon Herzberg on May 12, 1956 in Clinton. Chris worked as an accountant for Bordens Dairy and then for First Federal Savings and Loan, retiring in 1995. After retiring, he worked at Duck Creek Golf Course and Emeis Golf Course as a starter for 21 years.
Chris was an accomplished bowler, receiving several awards. He was inducted in the Greater Davenport Metro USBC Association in 1989. He bowled 28 - 300 games and at least 9 - 800 series. He was president of the Tri City Classic League for 21 years. He also enjoyed fishing, playing cards and spending time with family. Chris was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and was a member of the church choir. He also sang in the Messiah for 21 years.
Survivors include his loving wife, Sharon; children, Mark (Sue) Lorenzen of Davenport, Amy (Lori) Blevins of Bettendorf; grandchildren, Derek (Melissa), Tara, Cara (Obie), Kurt, Craig, Nathan; Great grandchildren, Zen and Silas and sister, Kay (Jim) Frahm of Clinton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Carl and one sister, MaryAnn.
