January 27, 1967 – January 29, 2019
Christine Clayton was born into life on January 27, 1967 to Eloise Clayton and Christmas Britton who both preceded her in death, in Chicago, Illinois. She was the oldest of three siblings.
Christine received her formal education in the Chicago Public School System attending Luke O'toole Elementary School and graduated from Gage Park High School in 1985. She enjoyed reading and expressing her creativity through artistic coloring. She continued her education through Phoenix University by perusing an early childhood education degree.
Christine was a homemaker and loved to cook. The aroma from her holiday family meals would fill the air for all those who were eagerly waiting. Her mother’s potato salad recipe was a staple in the family. Christine’s desire was to feed her family and everyone around her as much as she could. She was able to touch other people through her love of cooking. Christine housed, fed, and cared for friends and family alike. Sometimes it was chaotic but there was always love in her home. She was really an amazing woman.
Christine accepted Christ at an early age at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church, Chicago, Illinois where she was baptized by Reverend Ezra Jones and sang in the church choir.
Christine leaves to cherish her precious memories: her three children Edward Clayton, Gabrielle Clayton (Anthony), and Wilfen Holmes (Terianna), three grandsons Jamonta Clayton, Anthony Smith III (AJ), and Jayden Smith, one brother Donnell Clayton (Shatondria), one sister Latasha Danner, two God daughters Jessica Clayton and Sha’myah Jones, one God sister Akia Gardner and a host of aunties, uncles, cousins, and friends.
All whom loved Christine dearly will never forget her tenacity, charm, care and grace as well as her undying love for them.
