Clara Mae Deklein, 77 of DeWitt, IA, passed away peacefully at Fieldstone of DeWitt on August 16, 2026. As per her wishes, there will not be any services. Online condolences may be expressed at www.rungemortuary.com.
Clara was born on September 18, 1948, to Maurice and Mary (Solomon) Gross. She was united in marriage to Peter Deklein on October 14, 1991, in Murray, KY. Clara worked driving buses for the Murray-Calloway public transport system and helped teach Sunday school. She loved dancing, helping others, going to flea markets, and playing cards.
Left to cherish her memories include her daughter Rachel Bloodsow; siblings Shirley (the late Bill) of Murray, KY, John (Rita) Gross of Rock Island, IL, grandson Nicholas Bloodsow, and several other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, loving husband Peter, twins Romana and Roger Asleson, and brother-in-law Bill.
