Davenport, IA Funeral services for Clarence F. “Hildy” Hildebrand, 82, of Davenport, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 10, 2011 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Davenport. Burial with military honors will follow at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will greet friends on Sunday from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Cunnick-Collins Mortuary, 1200 East 39th Street, Davenport, IA. Mr. Hildebrand died on Thursday, October 6, 2011 at his residence in Davenport surrounded by his loving family.Clarence Frederick Hildebrand was born on August 5, 1929 in Davenport, IA, the son of Clarence and Mildred (Brockman) Hildebrand Sr. On November 17, 1953, he married Evelyn “Pat” Koester in Wisner, NE. Mr. Hildebrand was employed for 40 years as the Chief Warrant Officer in charge of the supply room for the Iowa Army National Guard. Following his military service he began work at Sodexo Food Services where he worked in the preparation and distribution department retiring in 2006 after 18 years of service.Hildy was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Davenport, the Davenport Moose Lodge, and, was very active with the Greater Davenport Bowling Association where he had also served as secretary. In 1997 he was inducted into the Bowlers Hall Of Fame. Mr. Hildebrand loved puzzle Books and most especially enjoyed the time spent with his family. They were his life.Clarence is survived by- his Wife of 58 years, Evelyn; 4 Daughters: Luellen Hildebrand, Colette (Glen) Cain-Goettsch, Jayne Hildebrand, and Michelle “Shelly” (Tom) Tucker all of Davenport; a Son: Robert (Julie) Hildebrand of Davenport; 6 Grandchildren: Kristi, Tami, Staci, Ryan, Zach, and Nathan; 4 Great-Grandchildren: Nadia, Sydney, Molly, Vincent and 2 on the way; 2 Sisters: Patsy Chase and Phyllis Hildebrand both of Davenport, and a Brother Larry Hildebrand of Parrish, FL.In addition to his parents, he was preceeded in death by a son-in-law: James Cain, a sister-in law: Maggie Hildebrand, and a Brother-In-Law: Fred Chase.Memorials may be made to the Task Force Davenport-FRG (Iowa Army National Guard)
