

Conrad N. Lewis, 82, of Davenport passed away on Tuesday, April 8, 2014 with his family by his side at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf. Per his wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. Memorial services will be held at a later date in California. Cunnick-Collins Mortuary and Cremation Service assisted the family with arrangements. Conrad Nagel Lewis was born on September 6, 1931 in Ruston, LA, the son of Albert and Johnnie (Howard) Lewis. He attended Grambling State University in Grambling, LA. During the Korean Conflict, he served in the United States Marine Corp. Following his military obligation, he relocated to Los Angeles, CA. He worked for the Simon Levi Company as a liquor salesman for over 30 years. Conrad eventually retired in 1989 from the California State Lottery Commission. In 2011, he moved to Davenport. He was a member of the Grambling State Alumni Association and the Teamsters Union.Conrad was loved by a great number of people. To all of them he will be remembered as the full of life and storytelling person that he was. He is survived by his Children: Gregory (Yolanda) Frazier of Upland, CA, Janice Lewis of Davenport, Donna (Randy) Alexander of Detroit, MI, Connie (Rodrick) Hawkins of Milton, FL, Marguerite (Jerold) Ash of Sacramento, CA, Byron (Rachel) Lewis of Davenport; his Former wife: Dr. Evangeline Lewis of Davenport; 15 Grandchildren; 16 Great-Grandchildren; one Great-great-grandson; and a host of friends and relatives. Memorials may be directed to the family.
