Dale W. Schaeffer

Funeral services for Dale W. Schaeffer, 69, of Walcott, will be held Friday, March 2, 2012 10:00 am at Cunnick Collins Mortuary. Visitation will be held Thursday from 4-7 pm at the Mortuary. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery.Dale passed away peacefully on Monday, February 27, 2012 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, after a courageous 3 year battle with cancer.Dale Walter Schaeffer was born April 13, 1942 in Davenport, Iowa the son of Walter and Ester (Marxen) Schaeffer. Dale retired from Goodyear in 1981 then went to work as a distributor through Motion Ind with Alcoa where he retired after 25 years. In 2010 he began working with SMS Millcraft.Dale enjoyed golfing and was the "#1 Iowa Hurricane Baseball Fan".Dale was very much the family man. He never missed a chance to spend time with his family. He especially enjoyed watching his grandsons play baseball.Those left to honor his memory include his loving daughters and spouses: Rochelle (Craig) Mosley, Davenport, Janel (Jim) Frank, Walcott, Brandy (Ron) Meade, Davenport, Suzzette (Mike) Hutsell, Indianapolis, IN, and Sharyne Papp, Milwaukee, WI; 11 grandchildren: Elijah, Joe, Izaiah, Brendon, Chloe, Leah, Shelby, Kolby, Kiel, Sasha, John David; 2 great grandchildren: Shawn and Chase; and a sister Luella Woods.He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Gavin.Memorials may be made to the family
