Daniel C Martin

Daniel Cyrus Martin, 87, of Eldridge, passed away Sunday, August 31, 2025, at UnityPoint-Trinity Hospital in Bettendorf. Per his request, cremation rites will be provided. A memorial visitation will be Saturday, October 11, 2025, from noon until 3 pm at The Runge Mortuary.

He was born in Boone, IA on April 19, 1938. He was the son of Walter and Margaret (Eiselstein) Martin. He Served in the Army during the Korean Conflict.

He was previously married to Patricia Morse, and they had three children: Bryan, Bruce and Brenda. He married Pam Evans on April 17, 1976, and their son, Mark Evans. She preceded him in death on November 19, 2018.

Dan worked as an insurance agent for State Farm Insurance Company for numerous years prior to retiring.

Dan was truly passionate and influential for snowmobiling and was inducted into the National Snowmobile Hall of Fame in 1991. He also served as President of the Iowa State Snowmobile Association and was a past chairman for the Midwest Chapter of the International Snowmobile Council.

Those left to honor his memory include his children: Bryan (Leslie) Martin, KY; Bruce (Beth) Martin, DeWitt, Brenda Martin, Davenport, Mark (Ann) Evans, Blue Grass; grandchildren: Nicky Martin, KY; Taylor (Alex White), IN; Jesse Dunlop (Stefanie), Davenport; Nicole Dunlop, DeWitt, Kenneth Minor and Justin Evans, both of Davenport and Alexander Evans, Blue Grass and great-grandchildren, Freya Evans and Devon Dunlop. His parents preceded him in death.
