

Daniel Burton Miller, 63, of Davenport, passed away Friday, May 4, 2012 at Genesis Medical Center – East Campus. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Monday, May 7, 2012 at Westside Assembly of God Church. Visitation will be from 4:00 – 6:00 Sunday, May 6, 2012 at the Runge Mortuary. Daniel was born on March 15, 1949 in Davenport, Iowa, the son of Harvey and Thelma Jean (Hornbuckle) Miller. He married Mary Vanover on March 5, 1976 at Westside Assembly of God Church in Davenport. He was a veteran serving in the Navy. He was a very hard worker for the city of Davenport for 27 years retiring in 2001. Daniel was a good bowler and a very loving husband, father, grandpa, brother and uncle. The loves of his life were his grandchildren. He was a gentle giant and a very caring, people person known for his smile and love of God. He was a member of Westside Assembly of God Church for many years and ran the bus route picking up kids for church. He would go out of his way for anyone and was a Hawkeye and Bears fan. Survivors include: his wife, Mary; sons, Josh Miller and Nathaniel (Jody) Miller; grandchildren, Joseph Miller and Kayla Miller; brother, Ron (Joyce) Miller; sisters, Deb (Dan) Connard, Cindy (Dean) Powers and Barb (Jerry) Miller; special cousins, Dennie Jamieson, Susan Peterson and Connie Goode; six nephews and seven nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents. The family would like to thank everyone for their help and support through Daniel’s sickness and heart condition.
