

Darlene Mary Kamm, 77, of Davenport, formerly of Dubuque, passed away Saturday, April 9, 2011 at Genesis East in Davenport. Following cremation, a Celebration of Life Service will be held at OXBUS GROTTO, 3011 Autumn Drive, Asbury, Iowa at 2 PM on Saturday, April 16, 2011. Darlene was born November 27, 1933, the youngest daughter of Irvin and Lucille (Dimmer) Laughlin. She graduated from St. Columbkille’s High School in 1951. She married Donald Frank Kamm on September 12, 1953 at Assumption Church at Sylvia Switch, Iowa. He preceded her in death on August 13, 2008. She went to work for Crescent Electric Supply Co. and Flexsteel Industries prior to retiring to raise her family. In 1969 she began working at J.C. Penney where she was employed until she retired in 1996, after 26 years of service.
She was a Girl Scout leader for many years, beginning with a Brownie troop and followed many of the girls through the senior level of Girl Scouting. She enjoyed many trips with the girls, the longest to the birthplace of Girl Scouting in Savanna, Georgia.
In her retirement years, she enjoyed sewing and crocheting afghans.
Survivors include her three daughters: Donna (Mark) Bartlett of Davenport, Iowa, Lisa (Doug) Wang of Elkhorn, Wisconsin, and Tina PierAgostini of Madison, Wisconsin; six grandchildren: Anthony (Kendal) Bartlett of West Des Moines, Iowa, Amanda Bartlett of Jackson Hole, Wyoming, Jennifer (Jason) Hart of Elgin, Illinois, and Kyle Schlueter, stationed at Fort Lewis, Washington, with the US Army, and Eric and Hailey Wang of Elkhorn, Wisconsin; two great granddaughters: Emma Hart and Madison Bartlett; and a brother Allen (Lois) Laughlin of Epworth, Iowa.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Helen Powers, three brothers: Justin, Robert, and Joseph Laughlin.
