Funeral services for Darrell E. Rector, 78, of Davenport will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at the Rock Island Arsenal National Cemetery. Those wishing to attend should gather at Cunnick-Collins Mortuary in Davenport by 2:00 p.m. There will be no public visitation. Mr. Rector died at his residence in Davenport on Wednesday, October 17, 2012.Darrell Earl Rector was born on August 27, 1934 in Stratford, IA, the son of Alva and Agnes (Peel) Rector. After high school graduation, he joined the United States Air Force serving with the 809th Supply squadron. Following his military obligations he moved to Davenport where he was self employed, owning and operating Darrel’s Barber shop for many years.Surviving members of the family include 2 nieces: Celia and Debbie, and a nephew: Dean.He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 sisters: Juanita and Viola.
