A private graveside service and burial for David V. Gardner, 59, of Davenport, was held on Friday, April 20, 2012 at Oakdale Memorial Gardens in Davenport. There was no public visitation. David died on Sunday, April 15, 2012 at his residence following a lengthy illness. Cunnick-Collins Mortuary and Cremation Service assisted the family with arrangements.David Vaughn Gardner was born on June 14, 1952 in Bremerton, WA, the son of Vaughn and Mary (Stewart) Gardner. After moving to Iowa, he worked for many years in the Iowa City and Cedar Rapids area as a chef and cook at various restaurants prior to his retirement for failing health.Surviving members of the family include – his Mother: Mary Gardner of Seattle, WA; a Son: Joshua Gardner; 4 Sisters: Teresa Gardner, Lisa Carlson, Ranee Bierschenk, and Launa Meyer; and a Brother: Marlin Gardner.
