Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 21, 2018 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Runge Mortuary. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, October 22, 2018 at the First Church of the Nazarene, Davenport. Memorials may be made to the church. David was born the son of Everett and Edna (Butler) Penick on August 17, 1945 in Canton, MO. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1963-1966, serving during the Vietnam War from 1964-1965 aboard the USS Kitty Hawk. He was united in marriage to Susan (Haigh) Penick on September 17, 2005 in Davenport, IA. David was an industrial Electrician for many years prior to retirement.
David was a loving, unselfish and gentle man. He loved animals especially his dog, Molly and cat, Crickey. He enjoyed working in his garden and yard, tending to his roses and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.
He is survived by his loving wife, Susan; children: Vicki Reighard-Kean, Tony Penick, Tim Penick and Abby Penick-Tracy; mothers of his children, Linda Prior and Kay Churchill; brothers, Gene and Richard Penick; step-children: Scott Marsden, Todd Marsden and Troy Tisor; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brothers: Gary, William Herren and Ralph Herren Jr.
