Delores was born on September 11, 1935, in New London, Iowa to Samuel and Hattie (Brown) Yeaman. She married Charlie E. Thornburg December, 1954 in Davenport Iowa.
Delores attended Davenport public schools and worked at various Jobs throughout her teen years. At age 19, she gave her heart to the Lord and dedicated her life to Him, focusing on raising the eight children God gave her, and the two placed in her life that she loved even as her own. At times she would provide in-home care for others and their children who often became an extension of her family. She was a wonderful mother, an awesome mentor, and ambassador of Grace. Her passion in life was serving the Lord, supporting ministry, attending and being faithful to her home church, Faith Gospel, where three of her sons have pastored. She penned numerous songs, wrote and published two books, learned how to drive later in life - thanks Brother Mick Tate - the children appreciate that.
