Dennis Arthur Childers

Dennis Childers, 52, passed away at his home in Wilton, IA, on Sunday, July 12, 2015. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. at the Runge Mortuary, Davenport. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service, at the mortuary. Burial will follow in Rosehill Cemetery, Buffalo. A celebration of life will be held immediately following the services at the cemetery at the Calvary Lutheran Church in Buffalo, IA.

Dennis was born in Davenport on June 10, 1963, to Glenn and Letha Marie Childers. He enjoyed spending time in his garage. He loved cars and trucks and could work on anything – as long as it wasn’t a Ford! Dennis was funny, with a good sense of humor, but was also a good listener. He was very caring, and would help anyone in need. He loved to spend time outdoors, enjoyed working in his garden, and making pies. Above all, he was a great father and grandfather who loved spending time with his grandchildren, especially his sidekick Matty.

Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Tiffany and Cody Childers; grandchildren, Matthew and Edith; siblings, Jerry (Nancy) Childers, Bob Childers, Donald Childers, Sharon (Geoff) Myers, Randy (Margie) Childers, and Steve Childers; numerous nieces and nephews; and a number of wonderful friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
