

He was born on May 5, 1946 in Cleveland Ohio. He was the son of Susan Kroger and George Kroger.
He was a graduate of Ohio State University (1969), majoring in Political Science and minoring in Chemistry. Dennis spent many decades owning and operating Chariot Towing in Countryside Illinois. He was a yearly supporter and organizer for Tow Trucks for Tots, a charity ensuring that underprivileged children received gifts during the holiday season. He sold Chariot Towing and retired in 2017. He spent the final years of his life as a proud resident of Davenport Iowa.
Dennis was an avid fan of the Chicago Bears, the Cubs, and the Blackhawks. He loved fishing, classic cars, blackjack, and learning about history. For 19 consecutive years he and his family would rent a cabin on the Chippewa Flowage in Hayward Wisconsin, where they would spend their summers fishing.
Dennis is survived by his wife, Diann Kroger of Davenport IA. He leaves behind his two children, Austin Kroger and Kay Kroger, who live near Chicago IL. He is also survived by his brother David Kroger and sister-in-law Annette Kroger, Hudson OH; his niece Kristan (Kroger) Opdahl, Bloomfield Hills MI; and nephew Erik Kroger, Milton GA. Dennis is also survived by his sister Sandra Mahler and brother-in-law Robert Mahler, East Lake OH; and his nieces Kim Bradic, Willoughby OH; Renee Kile, Kirkland OH; and his nephew Eric Mahler, Concord OH.
