Dennis Wayne Smith Sr.

Dennis W. Smith, Sr., 76, of Davenport passed away on Tuesday, June 13, 2017. Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm Friday, July 7, 2017 in the Runge Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior. Dennis was born November 28, 1940 in Davenport, IA a son of Harry K. and Catherine (Pennington) Smith. On July 25, 1959 he was united in marriage to Sally I. Barnett in Davenport, IA. He worked at John Deere Harvester for 30 years as an assembler, retiring in April 1993.

He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals and Greenbay Packers fan. Dennis also enjoyed fishing.

Those left to honor his memory include his children: Kimery Smith, Davenport, Douglas (Mary) Smith, Indianapolis, IN, Becki (Randy) Rosenthal, Davenport, and Michael Smith, Davenport; thirteen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents Dennis was preceded in death by a son, Dennis, Jr.; daughter, Jessie Richards and brother, Charles E. Smith.
