Dixie Lou Brock

Our family would like to regretfully announce the passing of Dixie Lou Brock (Hoxsey). She died February 10th, 2017 at the age of 78 in Victorville, California after a brief battle with cancer. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, February 21, 2017 in the Runge Mortuary Chapel, 838 E. Kimberly Road, Davenport. Visitation will be held from 5-7 pm, Monday at the mortuary. Dixie was born in Iowa, daughter of Richard Lee and Dora Mae Hoxsey. She attended Davenport High School. She retired after 30 years of service at the United States Post Office, 15 years in Davenport and 15 years in Adelanto, California.

Dixie was united in marriage to Roy A. Brock on March 5th, 1957 in Davenport, Iowa. She is survived by her sister Marcella (“Tuddy”) Last. She will be dearly remembered by her husband after 60 years of marriage and six children: Roy A. Brock, Jr. (Mojave, CA), Doreen M. Anderson, Richard L. Brock and Robert D. Brock, all of Davenport, Randall C. (Chris Ann) Brock (Littleton, NH) and Ronald C. Brock (Victorville, CA). She is also survived by 22 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. The family would like to send a special thanks to Misi Brock for all her help. She was preceded in death by her parents, 5 brothers and 3 sisters.
