Dolores Fay-Eva Doubleday

Dolores Doubleday, 93, of Bettendorf, Iowa passed away on Thursday, August 25, 2022 at Genesis East Medical Center. Funeral services to honor her memory will be held on Thursday, September 1, 2022 at 10am at Weerts Funeral Home.

Dolores was born on February 11, 1929 to Paul and Anna Werneburg in Watertown, Wisconsin. She was united in marriage to Robert Doubleday on September 11, 1948 in Fredericksburg, Virginia. Dolores was very involved with her community of Jehovah’s Witnesses – Bettendorf. She could often be found tending to her vegetable garden and giving away the produce that she harvested. Dolores loved her family very much and was proud of her children and grandchildren.

Those left to honor her memory are her children Dan (Meredith) Doubleday, Scott (Jia-yi Li) Doubleday, and Linda Fitzgerald; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and her sister Irmgard Mandt.

She was preceded in death by her husband Robert; her parents; brother Gerhard Werneburg; and sisters Gertrude and Margaret.
