

Don A. Hoehn, 90, of Davenport, passed away on “Good Friday”, Friday, April 18, 2025 at Mercyone Genesis East Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon on Friday, April 25th at Weerts Funeral Home. The celebration of Don’s life will immediately follow the visitation at 12:00 p.m. Private burial will follow at Oakdale Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Don was born on March 12, 1935, in Davenport, IA to the only child of W. LeRoy and Alma (Sandbo) Hoehn. He graduated Davenport High School in 1953. He attended Augustana College and General Motors Institute. He was Service Director of Blackhawk, Lujack Schierbrock and Warren Chevrolet/Chrysler Plymouth in East Moline. After retiring two years, he became a realtor for Mel Foster Company for 35 years. Don was past president of the Quad City Morning Optimist Club where he was a member for 34 years.
Don played cards with the same four friends for 70 years. He loved the river, boating on the river, taking cruises, trains, skiing and fishing in Colorado, and at Disney World he became and adult child. He was “bigger than life”, was very charismatic and his voice was so loud, it would travel to the mountain tops when visiting Colorado. Don can be fondly remembered for his sense of humor.
Don is survived by his wife Joann Farnsworth; daughters, Betty (Michael) Wyffels and Susan Hoehn-Bral, Stepson Tom (Rachelle) Farnsworth; granddaughters, Megan (Justin) Williams, Jenny Wyffels, Stephanie (Ian) Ross, Samantha (Michael) Pierson and great granddaughter, Jettlynn Turnbull (Jenny Wyffels), and great-grandson, Vincent Ross (Stephanie and Ian).
He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Phyllis Hoehn.
