Donald Eugene Bishop

Donald Eugene Bishop, 55, of Letts, IA, passed away Sunday, July 6, 2014 in Letts. Graveside services will be held on Friday, July 11, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family. Online condolences may be left at www.rungemortuary.com.

Don was born November 8, 1958 in Davenport, the son of Vincent Howard and Betty Ann (Burns) Bishop. He was united in marriage to Jeanne Koenig on January 31, 1976 in Davenport.

Don was employed at H.J. Heinz in Muscatine for 37 years as a cook, painter, janitorial supervisor and leadman, retiring in 2014.

He loved to hunt, especially bow-hunting for deer; fish and riding his motorcycle. He also volunteered for the United Way.

He is survived by his wife, Jeanne, Letts; sons: Justin, Muscatine and Matt (Christa), Bend, OR; grandchildren: Kinley Sue Weggen and Olivia Lynn Bishop; sisters: Phyllis (Phillip) Benge, Tipton, IA and Brenda (Jim) Meewes, Nichols, IA; brother, Steve (Ethel) Bishop, Wapello, IA and everyone else on the planet. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Michael Robert and a daughter Jill Ann Bishop.
