

Donald J. Bork, 74, of Davenport passed away on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at Select Specialty Hospital. Funeral service will be at 12:00 noon at the Runge Mortuary on Friday, December 23, 2016. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Thursday, December 22, 2016. Memorials may be made to Select Specialty Hospital. Online condolences may be expressed at www.rungemortuary.com.
Donald was born on December 14, 1942 in Marquette, IA to Daniel and Mary (Everhart) Bork. He married Pat Thede; they later divorced.
He earned his apprenticeship from Alcoa in heating and air conditioning. Donald was a local member of the Sheet Metal Worker Union Local 91. His employers included Ideal Plumbing and Heating, Home Heating and Quality Heating and Air.
Donald love fishing, especially for musky, and his many trips to Minnesota with his family. He was a charter member of the Mississippi Valley Musky Inc. Chapter 11. He also loved muscle cars and taking his children to Cordova to watch the drag racing. He enjoyed doing Sudoku puzzles and word searches. He was very proud of his tomato plants and iris. He loved BLT and Peanut Butter sandwiches. Donald loved the outdoors, spending time at Credit Island, eagle watching and feeding the birds in his yard. He also enjoyed Elvis Duran phone taps.
Donald will be sorely missed by all.
Survivors include his children: Michaele (David) Burmeister and Aaron (Donna) Bork; sister, Deanna (Robert) Welfer; nephews, Casey and Cory; great nieces and great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and infant daughter, Dawn.
