I am very saddened to hear of Don's passing. He and my dad (Steve Hitchcock) have been good friends as far back as high school (and maybe before that?). Don was such a kind man.  Whenever I saw him at a get together he always came over to ask how I was and wanted to know what I had been up to.  No words can adequately express my deepest sympathy! 

My sympathy to all the family.   Distant cousins but we were close in many ways.   I remember the times on the Wyoming farm when Don's family would come.  Good times.

Don was an independent thinker and one of the  nicest, most approachable people on earth who made everyone feel welcome and loved by all

I had the pleasure of meeting Don when he came to the Quality Assurance Directorate as a new QA Specialist for orientation.  He was always such a gentleman, (and easy on the eyes).  
He was a cryptoquote and crossword master as well as a very good civil servant for many years.  I would usually have to call him for help with those darn cryptoquotes but he would stubbornly give me a clue.
Many in our directorate shared his passion for softball and golf.  There were many great gatherings for the QA softball games played on the Arsenal, and a couple of golf tournaments.
My heart goes out to Bob and Sherry and the entire Wolfram family.
I'm sure Don has been welcomed to the "heavenly" sports teams  and with no more pain.  Rest in peace old friend, you will be great missed by many.  .  

Don was a friend going way back to the days my wife, Janice, and I moved to Davenport in 1982 from St. Louis for a new job at the Arsenal.  We have many great memories of playing softball and attending annual Christmas parties and other social events with Don and our long time circle of friends we met at the Arsenal through the years. He always had a smile and a great positive attitude. He is in our thoughts and prayers.
