Don was born June 22, 1933 in Davenport, the son of John H. and Velma (Chrysler) Feddersen. He married Janice Fellner on March 6, 1953 at Newcomb Presbyterian Church in Davenport. It was a double wedding with his brother, Carl and Janice’s sister, Marilyn. Don and Janice had just celebrated their 69th anniversary.
Don retired from John Deere after 20 years of service. Earlier, he had worked in the grocery business, having been a butcher. He loved his wife and family, enjoyed life, gambling and having a beer. He always had a smile and a sense of humor. He loved to joke and tease his favorite sister, Jean.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Janice, daughters: Robin (Bob) Durrett, Bettendorf, Sandy Feddersen, and Tuesday (Rick) Neely, both of Davenport, 5 grandchildren including Ben (Joele) Wiley who were always there for grandpa, sisters, Jean Bender and Ann (Rich) Lausen, both of Davenport and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Michael and wife, Deborah Feddersen, daughter Debra Feddersen, granddaughter, Emily Muse and brothers: Wayne, Ken, Jack, Dick, Carl and Glen.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff at Good Samaritan for the wonderful care they gave to Don. A special thank you to the staff at St. Croix Hospice. You made his last days more peaceful. May he rest in peace!
