Donald M. Hahn, 91, of Davenport passed away on Sunday, February 5, 2023 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House. Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 12, 2023 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Weerts Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, February 13, 2023 at the Funeral home. Burial will follow at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to River City Church, Moline, IL or Civil Air Patrol, Davenport. Donald was born on March 12, 1931 in Rock Island, IL to Floyd and Lois (Fordham) Hahn. He was united in marriage to Shirley Stark on July 30, 1949 in Davenport. She preceded him in death on November 15, 1994. Donald worked as a toolmaker at Red Jacket/Marley Pump, retiring in 1995 after 49 years.
He enjoyed singing and playing 50’s and 60’s Country Western Music on his guitar. He and his brothers loved to play for various organizations. He and Shirley enjoyed listening to the Grand Ole Opry on the weekends. Donald had many talents and enjoyed working with his hands; in 1954 he even built their first family home.
Donald is survived by his children, Donald (Maria) Hahn Jr. and Janet Van Ert, both Davenport; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren and one brother, Roger (Patty) Hahn.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one brother, Floyd Hahn and two sisters, Doris Gilbert and Flora Snyder.
The family would like to thank the staff at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House for their care and comfort of their father over the last few days.
