Donald R. Hebeler

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 2, 2019 in the Runge Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service. He will be laid to rest in Davenport Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the family. Online condolences may be expressed at www.rungemortuary.com. Don was born on August 28, 1935 to Marvin and Evelyn (Andersen) Hebeler in Davenport. He was united in marriage to Carol Hauschildt on August 13, 1955 in Davenport. Don worked at the Peter Pan Bakery and Filner Fuel before retiring from Caterpillar. He loved tinkering in the garage and could fix just about anything. Don loved his wife dearly and always put his family first. Every Sunday the family would go on leisurely drives. He enjoyed traveling to places such as Canada, Idaho, and Florida. Don and Carol loved the outdoors, camping and fishing together. For many years they would meet for the annual Hauschildt camping trip in addition to being a part of the Port Louisa “Hidden Acres” camping group which included the annual fish fry. He enjoyed salmon fishing in Lake Michigan, and hunting deer and waterfowl. Survivors include his children, Julie (Guy) Fogler of Davenport, Steve (Leslie) Hebeler of Wheatland, Linda Downey of Starr, ID and Scott Hebeler of Davenport; grandchildren: Jessie, Kellie, Kathryn, Patrick, Christopher, and Madisen; great grandchildren: Ashton, Avriana, Keaton, Paislee, Hannah, Mariel, Georgia, Gabriel, Arthur, and Jase; and siblings: Dolores Bailey, Diana (Don) Reins, David (Mary) Hebeler, Doris (Ken) Shehorn, Dennis Hebeler, and Debbie (Albert) Cox. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, infant daughter, Sandra and grandson, Steven.
