Donald F. Rowe

Donald F. Rowe, 79, of Bettendorf, passed away after a brief illness surrounded by his loving family, Friday, May 23, 2014. A memorial service will be held at 12PM, Saturday, May 31, 2014 in The Runge Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the memorial service. Per his wishes cremation rites have been accorded. Memorials may be made to St James Lutheran Church or the American Diabetes Association. Online tributes and condolences may be left at www.rungemortuary.com. Don was born on September 13, 1934 in Kalona, Iowa, the son of Fay and Dessal (Small) Rowe. He was united in marriage to Jean Collins on February 18, 1956 in Oxford, England. He was a US Air Force Veteran serving at the end of the Korean Conflict. He retired from Nichols Homeshield after over 35 years of service. Don enjoyed fishing, hunting, and family camping trips. Those left to honor his memory include his loving wife of 58 years, Jean; children Donna (Michael) Huetter, Phoenix, AZ, Gary Rowe, Davenport, Gina (Joe) Tillie, Matherville, IL, and Karen (Kevin) Grell, McCausland, IA; and four grandchildren, Kyle and Katy Huetter, and Trever and Lauren Grell. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Cleo and Cloyce and sister Lorene.
