Donna Kay Rome

A visitation will be held on Monday, October 19, 2026, from 4-7 pm at The Runge Mortuary. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, at 10 am in The Runge Chapel. She will be laid to rest at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made out to Zion Lutheran Church.

She was born on May 21, 1942, in Davenport, the daughter of William and Doris (Hart) Evans. Donna was united in marriage to Eugene Rome Jr. on April 14, 1962, at Zion Lutheran Church in Davenport. Together they enjoyed traveling, attending their grandchildren’s activities and were active in the church. She retired from Genesis Acute Rehab after 30 years of service. During those years she was the hub for the Rehab Team, interacting with all disciplines. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church and a member of the Eunice Circle at the church. Donna was devoted to her dachshunds, Sadie and Sophie.

Those left to cherish her memories are her children, Rebecca Rome, Bettendorf, Elizabeth (Mark) Lindhoff, LeClaire, IA, and Jodi Airgood, Bettendorf, IA; grandchildren Mathew (Sara) Rome, North Liberty, IA, Josef (Riannon) Airgood, Alexis, IL, Jakob (Nicole) Airgood, Durant, IA, Tyler (Evelyn) Lindhoff, LeClaire, IA, Kara Lindhoff, West Des Moines, IA, Samuel (Sadie Fahrenkrug), DeWitt, IA; great-grandchildren Katy Airgood, Carson and Liam Airgood, Maxwell Rome; siblings Jack Evans, Sara Isaacson, and Joe Evans.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son Tim, son-in-law Joe, and siblings Bill and Linda.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the Staff of Meadow View and the Kahl Home for their compassionate care of Donna.
