Donna C. Schneider

Donna was born in Cherokee, Iowa, to Fern (Huff) Phillips and graduated from Storm Lake High School when she met William “Bill” Schneider. Their young romance grew into a loving and devoted 74-year marriage.

Together, Donna and Bill built a loving home and raised four children: Lynn DeRoo of Highlands Ranch, Colorado; Peggy Dockery of Bettendorf; Ted (Claire) Schneider of Eldridge; and Beth McComber of Bettendorf. Family was always at the center of Donna’s life.

Donna's greatest joy was simply having her family together. She loved hearing about everyone’s lives, watching her family grow, celebrating their accomplishments, and making memories. Her love was unconditional, generous, and constant.

Donna & Bill loved to travel extensively with family or close friends; visiting all 50 states as well as many foreign countries. They especially enjoyed spending their winters in Arizona to enjoy the warmth & sunshine.

She was a devoted Iowa Hawkeyes fan and loved playing cards—a favorite pastime that brought plenty of laughter and friendly competition.

Donna is survived by her husband Bill; her children, Lynn, Ted (Claire), and Beth; her grandchildren, Joey (Julia) and Bobby DeRoo, Shane, Alex, and Connor (Courtney)Dockery, Trae and Abby Schneider, and Madison and Hannah McComber; and her great-grandchildren, Sophia Dockery, Natalie and Dixon Dockery, and Alden and Clara DeRoo.

She was preceded in death by her mother, her brother, Jimmy, & her daughter, Peggy.

Donna’s greatest legacy is the family she loved so dearly. Though she will be deeply missed, her love, laughter, and memories will live on in her family and all who were fortunate enough to know her.
