Donnie Ray Hill
November 29, 1953 – January 18, 2023

Donnie Ray Hill, 70, of Davenport, IA, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 18, 2023.
Visitation will be held 1:00-2:00pm on Thursday, January 26, at the Runge Mortuary, followed by a funeral service at 2:00pm. Memorials may be made to the family.
Donnie was born November 29, 1952 to Lucious Sr. and Lillie (Bishop) Hill in Starkville, MS. He attended Davenport West High School and later went on to play semi-pro football. Donnie was employed at Muller Lumber Construction as a blueprint contractor for over 20 years.
Donnie lived a fulfilling life, did his own thing, and enjoyed talking smack. He loved to watch his favorite sports teams, the Dallas Cowboys and St. Louis Cardinals. More than anything he loved and cherished his wife, children, grandchildren, and great granddaughter, and the time he spent with them.
Those left to cherish his memories include his children, Termaine (Tiffany Pendleton) Beason, Louise (Jonathan Brown) Hill, and Nicky Hill; grandchildren: Jatavia Hill, Matthew Canady Jr., Amaya Canady, and Jonna Brown; great granddaughter, Navia Robertson-Canady; siblings, Dessie Mitchem, Willie (Constance) Hill, and Brenda (Fred) Hill-Johnson; along with a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Johnnie Pearl Hill; parents, Lucious and Lillie Hill; son, Donnie Wilson; granddaughter, J’Lynn Beason; sisters: Nazarene (Polly) Thomas, Bertha Burge, Lillie May Bruce, Lubertha Gunter and Clara Newman; and his brothers, Lucious Hill Jr. and Bobby Hill.
