Dora "Elly" E. Marxen

Funeral services for Dora Eleanor “Elly” Marxen, 90, of East Moline, IL will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 22nd at Cunnick-Collins Mortuary chapel in Davenport. The family will greet friends from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the mortuary. Interment will be at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Marxen was called home to Heaven by Jesus on Thursday, August 18, 2016 at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf. Dora Eleanor Teel was born on March 5, 1926 in Wyman, IA, the daughter of Gus and Mary (Ray) Teel. In 1944 she graduated from Buffalo High School. On April 20, 1946, she married Edward A. Studeny and together they had five children. Elly later married Donald Marxen on April 7, 1984. She was very active in her children’s school activities and the PTA. She enjoyed doing crafts, cooking, and entertaining for family and friends. Elly was a member of the former Davenport East Turner Hall and St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. She is survived by Daughters: Diane (Steeg) Hertz of Springfield, OH, Ruthie Studeny of Davenport, Susan Dochterman of East Moline, IL; Daughter-in-Law: Bobbi Studeny of Davenport; 5 Grandchildren: Erik (Jie) Hertz of Ellicott City, MD, Chad (Melissa) Wilke of Chicago, IL, Hannah (Jim Naughton) Wilke of Chicago, IL, Jessica Studeny of Virginia Beach, VA, Steven Studeny of Virginia Beach, VA; and 7 Great-Grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by both of her husbands; a son, Edward A. Studeny Jr.; a daughter, Cheryl Studeny; a grandson, David Hertz; and 7 siblings.
